Position Purpose:

An opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to provide specialist technical engineering services for our Rolling Stock electrical and electronic systems (including communication systems). This is a 12- month fixed term contract based at Macauly, with potential for further extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver assigned projects within time, budget and quality metrics.
• Apply project management tools and techniques to define objectives, identify tasks required, plan and report progress.
• Produce technical documentation including safety plans, specifications, work instructions, electrical schematics, risk assessments, etc.
• Manage key suppliers and coordinate procurement activities.
• Specify material, resource and training requirements and provide technical assistance.
• Coordinate investigations, risk assessments & trials, developing solutions to technical issues.
• Coordinate stakeholder communications including requirements capture, technical reviews, acceptance, etc.
• Assist the Project Manager with development tasks including market research, writing scopes of work, creating project BOMs, budgets, schedules, quality plans, etc.

To succeed in this role you will require the following:

• An Electrical Engineering Degree, Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Relevant industry experience in project development and delivery.
• Knowledge and experience of asset whole-of-life performance and cost modelling i.e. LCC
• Experience of leading safety hazard analysis, hazard logs and risk assessments and authoring instructions and safe operating procedures.
• Confident verbal and written communication with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to others, and to proactively research supporting information.
• Either, a detailed understanding of relevant Australian/international rail industry standards, or experience of standards synthesis and application in a relevant industry.

You will have the agility to engage a variety of stakeholders, fostering positive working relationships. You will also manage multiple priorities while remaining focused on excellence.
