Your new company
The client I am partnering with is a global leader, and innovator, in the electrical engineering industry. Their clients cover a range of diverse industry sectors including; manufacturing, mining, agricultural, rail, transport and process and control. They are a long-established family business with branch offices across Australia. They pride themselves on delivering a high degree of technical expertise and personal support to their customers.

Your new role
This Sales Engineer role will see you based from home but covering a client base across the Newcastle/Hunter Valley/North Coast (to Coffs) region with travel required. You will be reporting directly into the NSW Sales Manager and will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties;

  • Develop and manage existing customer relationships as well as identifying and establishing new customer relationships
  • Provide sales support and identify business growth opportunities to a range of existing customers – Account Management
  • Develop targeted and systematic plans to achieve trading relationships with new and existing clients
  • Achieve customer satisfaction through the ongoing provision of customer service and technical advice/support
  • Identify and reporting on elements that are affecting business inclusive of corrective actions and activities relative to developing and growing our business
  • Conduct sales and service negotiations with those responsible for making decisions
  • Prepare, conduct and complete technical presentations on the product range
  • Provide information for, and assist in the preparation of contract procedures and product/service prices
  • Prepare proposals, respond to tenders and supervise agreements with customers

What you'll need to succeed
To find yourself succeeding in this role, you will be career focused with a passion for providing exceptional service. You will also possess the following experience and attributes;

  • Solid knowledge of the electrical and electronic components
  • Trade or Tertiary qualifications in the electrical field
  • Previous Sales Representative/Account Manager experience
  • Well developed network connections in the Region will be highly valued
  • Exceptional communication skills with strong negotiation skills and a solution based outlook
  • The ability to understand technical concepts and converse with a wide range of people professionally
  • Strong rapport building skills with the ability to engage, build and maintain solid customer relationships
  • Highly motivated to exceed set KPI’s and targets
  • Willingness and flexibility to undertake regular domestic travel across the Newcastle/Hunter/Regional NSW area.
  • Current Valid Australian Drivers License – Essential
