Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. About the team

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division engages with our customers and communities. We connect regional NSW with safe and tailored transport choices, and contribute to strong economic growth and sustainability across the state.

The opportunity

Right now, we have a couple of opportunities available for Lead Community and Safety Partners to join the Community and Place Branch. These positions are based in South Region and support South East Tablelands precinct and South East Coast precinct. Ideally you will be located within you nominated precinct, Or within a reasonable distance due to travel expectations within the region.

As the Community and Safety Partner lead, you will engage with NSW regional communities and stakeholders to champion their needs and achieve integrated community outcomes.

You will manage relationships with councils, community groups and other government partners to deliver safety and transport outcomes which suit those communities now and into the future, building and maintaining working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across a large geographical area.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience working in a similar professional position. We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain collaborate working relationships with councils, regional communities and various others stakeholders.

You’ll have the ability to understand technical information, capture an audience, project manage, flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and great attention to detail. Experience working with different levels of government and/or community would be advantageous.

This position has a strong focus on leadership, you will need to demonstrate the ability to manage yourself whilst working autonomously to support the regional communities. You will provide development to the team and mentor junior staff.

You must have a valid driver’s license and capacity to routinely travel within the region

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Transport Grade 8 ($118,015 - $132,176) - per annum plus superannuation
