As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works. The experience gained in this exciting, multi-disciplinary environment will be valuable to building your career in rail construction.

Metro Trains, delivery partner of the North West Program Alliance is currently seeking a Project Plannerto support current & future projects as part of the Level Crossing Removal Program (LXRP).

As a Project Planner you will be responsible for creating and maintaining an hour by hour construction program using Primavera P6, working alongside the discipline leads you will be coordinating planned works and resources.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity supporting current and future projects within the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain a hour by hour construction program utilising Primavera P6
  • Create, monitor and modify workforce histogram for 1 month to 18 months prior to works
  • Anlayse and report key occupation information back to wider team, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Chair internal planning sessions with all discipline leads to create a robust & realistic program in line with the works readiness timelines
  • Interface with representatives from all disciplines to create a robust & realistic program, ensuring resource requirements are clearly articulated
  • Ensure all construction works will be completed efficiently and safely as not prevent delays in handback of the occupation
  • Particpate in all occupation pre-planning sessions, lessons learnt and other sessions as required with wider occupation and construction teams
  • Work collaboratively with the infrastructure resources supporting team to develop resource planning schedules based on forecasted project program and workload

About You

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working as a Planner within infrastructure and/or civil projects:
  • High level of proficiency developing construction programs in Primavera P6
  • Experienced in planning multi-discipline scope in short and tight timeframes
  • Knowledge of current planning, cost control, project management techniques
  • Ability to plan and analyse occupation, write and present reports
  • Possess an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, stakeholders, contractors and staff (verbal and written)
  • Ability to operate and make effective decisions within a live safety critical environment
