About the client

From minor rail maintenance to major design and construction projects, our client offers a variety of work and career opportunities both in New Zealand and Australia.

Due to the recent award of projects in Auckland and Wellington and an exciting pipeline of work they are looking to grow their team.

They are now looking for an experienced Contracts Administrator to join the team on a 6-month contract.

The role:

  • Draft scope of work and prepare tender packages.

  • Manage the tendering process review, including negotiation of prices and recommendation of award. Ensure contracts are awarded within the required time frame and budget.

  • Maintain appropriate registers for managing the contracts.

  • Administer the awarded contracts by managing responses and correspondence of a financial or contractual nature.

  • Minimise variation claims and elimination of claims where possible.

  • Manage the packages under your control and report current position and any change to forecasted completion position.

  • Provide accurate and timely reports, maintain registers, and prepare forecast as required.

  • Participate in identification and quantification of Head Contracts variations.

  • Manage contracts to ensure that Code compliance is always maintained.

  • Assess commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of projects and identify and implement controls.

  • Check compliance and prepare reporting on commercial performance of the contract.

  • Undertake general business administration.

  • Receive and process subcontract interim payment claims & final accounts in accordance with relevant legislation and contractual obligations.

The person:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent.

  • A minimum 2 years' experience in a Contracts Administration or equivalent.Computer literate and experience of data entry and use of databases

  • .Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

  • A natural and enthusiastic team player

  • Proven time management skills

  • Great communication and people skills

  • A full driver license.
