The Position

Our Technology team are looking to appoint a Head of Delivery to join their dynamic leadership group. You will be accountable for the delivery of complex, transformative, high-profile projects across a diverse range of portfolios and technologies, leading a function that is able to scale and adapt in a smart way to meet demand. Predictable, consistent and transparent delivery is a key success criterion of this role, as well as ensuring seamless transitions to the respective business as usual functions.

Reporting into the General Manager of Technology, your key responsibilities will include;

  • Oversight of a dynamic program of diverse projects with a very strong focus on delivery
  • Ensure Program/Project Managers maintain open communication with the Steering group and Project Sponsor and comply with PMO reporting and Stage Gate approval requirements
  • Develop and effectively manage collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve business outcomes
  • Promoting a no-surprises, pragmatic and progressive culture with this function and its key stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with other Technology teams to manage projects in an integrated manner e.g., Change Advisory Board, Architecture, Application Support, etc.

About You

In order to be successful, you will possess the following;

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Technology and/or business preferred)
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering multiyear/ multi-million dollar ($40M plus) / multi-discipline programs of work with a complex stakeholder landscape
  • Ability to create and maintain a nurturing and collaborative delivery environment, ensuring projects & programs are initiated correctly and effectively so that they are set up for success
  • Based on your extensive experience working in a dynamic, fast paced, complex environment, the ability to determine and drive the appropriate delivery strategy for each project
  • Ability to work with teams and stakeholders with significantly different interests to align them to one vision
  • Demonstrable ability to solve the complex operational challenges that a rapidly scaling team brings
  • Relevant certification in project management (e.g. Prince2, PMBOK) and/or a minimum 10+ years of experience in IT Program Management across various methodologies such as Waterfall, Lean, Agile, DevOps, Design Thinking
  • Ability to view issues from above, considering a wide range of factors to determine the best way forward for the organisation
  • Appreciation of the differences between tactical and strategic solutions and ability to know where to apply each
  • A proven track record of building and scaling high performance delivery teams, including the ability to mentor and coach where/as required
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely clear updates to senior stakeholders which facilitate critical decisions
  • Operational leadership experience is desirable
  • Quality focused with attention to detail as situation demands
