About us

Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate road, rail, bus and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.

About the team

The Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) division leads policy, strategy, standards, advice and support across safety, environment, sustainability, asset management and regulatory outcomes for customers, for community and for our people (including contractors).

SER provides ‘centres of excellence’ with a critical mass of expertise to support line accountability, facilitate consistency and provide assurance across the cluster. It also delivers a range of regulatory programs.

The Opportunity

We currently have 3x Technical Business Analyst positions available to provide support and guidance regarding our current transformation of technology solutions. These roles are Fixed Term Permanent, based in Parramatta, with flexible working options provided.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Systems, this role will conduct research and analysis and provide the documentation required for these technical specifications. Working in collaboration with your team and the relevant stakeholders, you will then present this information in a way that taliores to all styles of technical abilites and understanding.

About You

You have a highly analytical mindset with a focus on system review, design and implamentation. You have a strong ability to understand the fuctional requirements in order to uplift current system and technical capabilities. Your been extensively involved in tackling projects head on with an innovative approach to foreseeing the wider organisational change in order to provide better business solutions.

You enjoy liaising with a vareity of people across the division and are comfortable and experienced in building relationships through effective and transparent stakeholder engagement.

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Lead the analysis of business requirements and identify opportunities, risks or issues.
  • Conduct investigative work to identify appropriate and practical solutions, meeting the needs of the business and aligning to industry standards, and ensuring that the team can deliver outcomes identified in the business plan.
  • Ensure technical specifications communicate user requirements in technical terms for submission to development teams. Role Description: Technical Business Analyst 3
  • Interpret and translate analysis results into quality technical specifications and or user stories that are insightful, clear and succinct.
  • Demonstrate the Transport Connected Leadership dimensions by role modelling collegiate and collaborative behaviours to achieve the greater good for the community, celebrate our diverse workforce, create an environment where people can create and thrive, and support our people’s wellbeing.
  • Develop a deep understanding of system functionality and design and conduct research and analyse options relating to business cases and deliverables to guide optimal decision-making.
  • Monitor, track and report on the status of key deliverables to ensure outcomes and goals are met.
  • Work cooperatively within a team, managing multiple work streams while focusing on producing successful results.

NOTE: This role requires security and criminal clearance prior to appointment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Transport Grade 7 ($103,956.00 – 116,441.00) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation + 2.5% annual leave loading.
