We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Waste Coordinator to take on this newly created role to provide management and leadership within the Waste Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the waste portfolio, including management of operational contracts, management of waste facilities, development and delivery of capital works projects including cell capping and development of a resource recovery centre, establishing and leading a community waste reference group, as well as strategies, policies and guidelines aligned with Council’s long term strategic direction. The preferred candidate will also have experience in team and budget management in order to provide strong leadership and direction to the Waste team.

It is preferable that applicants have a tertiary qualification in environmental engineering or environmental management or other relevant discipline, and/or demonstrated practical experience working within a highly regulated environment. Applicants should also have experience in managing waste operations and facilities (or similar), capital works projects specific to waste infrastructure, operating budgets, and contract management.
