JOB DESCRIPTION

About Us

Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate road, rail, bus and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.

About The Team

The Infrastructure and Place (IP) division is in the process of delivering once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. We are a dedicated and passionate team that is proud of the work we do and the supportive and flexible team culture we have built.

The roles sit within the Development Branch, which is responsible for the development of infrastructure and place projects that facilitate economic, social and environmental outcomes for the people of NSW.

The opportunity

We have a number of exciting opportunities for some experienced Development Managers to join our growing Development function, representing Transport NSW and leveraging our assets to develop integrated transport and property precinct solutions.

You will be a key member of a high performing team that develops underused Transport owner land, integrated transport, and precinct property development-based solutions, delivering on government objectives. Reporting to the relevant Program Director, you will be responsible to pursue potential development opportunities for multiple existing sites and taking them from the initial concept stage through design, approvals and ultimate delivery whilst maximising return on investment for all parties involved.

These are unique opportunities to be part of developing iconic programs that will benefit the NSW community at large such as Circular Quay Renewal, Central Renewal, Redfern and North Eveleigh Renewal, and Commercial Development Projects (including Transport and Revitalisation Program - TARP).

About You

You will have solid demonstrable experience in taking development opportunities from initial feasibility and concept design stages, through approvals and then successful delivery. You are an authentic manager and a strong collaborator, adaptable, pro-active problem solver and not afraid of getting involved to produce the required outcomes.

You will have a track record of efficiently delivering complex urban renewal, mixed use and infrastructure projects including land use change, decontamination and remediation.

Previous experience with Public Private Partnership (PPP), Property Development Agreement (PDA), JV structures and construction contracts will be highly regarded.

You will have skills in Property, Design, Approvals, Commercial, Financial and Legal disciplines underpinned by strong project management discipline.
