JOB DESCRIPTION

Travel at 60 has seen growth of group departures significantly throughout 2020 and is in the process of gearing up for a big start to 2021. We need an experienced tourism industry professional with product development and management to join us and help drive the expected growth.

Overview of the Role

The Product & Contract Manager will fill an integral function of product development, contracting and industry liaison to grow a unique product offering and ultimately increase product sales for Travel at 60.

The business is backed up by a strong target marketing program to its older demographic customer. The Product & Contracting Manager will have responsibility to develop new product, contract product and drive deal creation with existing product partners to ultimately provide maximum yield to the business.

This position requires previous product development and contracting experience, particularly in the cruise industry. Select sailings and management of cruise sales as well as coop trade experience will be highly regarded. Experience with rail and guided travel holidays is key. You will generate creative ideas for differentiated experiences and ensure the highest level of quality and brand standards are always adhered to.

As a senior leader of the team you will have some input into the future direction of product development for the business.


Key Accountabilities 

· Negotiating and contracting of rates, special offers, allocation, release periods, overrides, terms and conditions ensuring the best available rates and availability for our clients including cruise, rail & other product with preferred product suppliers

· Knowledge of travel industry suppliers and products

· Providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers

· Regular market comparison to compare with competitor product.

· Focus on sales performance, reviewing weekly product/sales reports to identify market trends and revenue growth opportunities.

· Explaining tools and procedures to suppliers giving supplier portal demonstrations, providing materials and contact support information

· Conduct research for tour and product development

· Maintain an awareness of new travel trends, styles and destinations.

· Collaborate with all relevant internal teams, including Marketing, content, technology and the call centre team to maximise outcomes for the business.


Skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent product knowledge with excellent negotiation and communication skills

· Proficiency with MS office applications

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in contracting product within the Australian tourism industry landscape

· Track record in business development and proven customer service 

· Well-developed organisational, administrative and financial skills

· Desirable - Proficient in the use of Sabre (GDS)

· Ability to develop and establish the best relationships with our suppliers, ensuring the product is negotiated with the best conditions on rate and inventory

· Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner with others - Must be a team player – We are a small team and this role works exceptionally closely with our call centre and marketing team
