The opportunity

Planning and Programs branch at Transport for NSW is looking for an Asset and Services Planner to join their team. In this newly created role you will be responsible for supporting the development of the Strategic Asset and Services Plan and the annual 10 year Asset and Service Plan for the Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) Transport network.

The role supports the development and prioritisation of ROM’s 10 year portfolio of TOTEX investment in growth and improvement, services and operations and asset maintenance and represented in the Asset and Services Plan.

This role will also report on ROM’s portfolio performance by identifying and reporting systemic issues, including insights on trends, risks and opportunities relevant to projects, programs and delivery partners. IT will require someone with an analytic mindset and the ability to develop and produce insightful performance reports for executive level consumption.

The successful candidate will review asset plans and coordinate subject matter experts across Transport to ensure that investment in asset and services is appropriately prioritized. As well as, managing and monitor asset and corridor strategies, and corridor plans to ensure alignment of capital and maintenance programs.

About You

The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in transport planning, traffic management, engineering (or related) and demonstrated understanding of traffic, safety and network planning principles.

We are looking for a talented asset management professional who is customer focused, demonstrates drive and commitment , effective communication, negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in addition to a proven record of successfully leading from the front.

You will need demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the application of asset management legislation, standards, and policies, with direct knowledge of or proven ability to apply those.

You will have expertise in the use of asset management systems, accompanied with experience in the review, interpretation, and analysis of information and in formulating recommendations and reports to senior management within large complex organisations. You need to have analytical mindset with excellent financial management, planning skills and should be able to translate large and diverse data into information and insights to inform decision making.

It is essential that as the successful candidate you have the ability to develop insightful portfolio performance reports, efficient and effective processes and systems.

The role requires security and criminal clearance prior to appointment.

Salary And Benefits

Transport Grade 8 ($118,015 - $132,176) + Super
