The Position

As a critical part of the Technology Team, the Solution Architect will investigate and provide technology solutions to meet business needs. Partnering with the Senior Solution Architects, Architecture Manager and Head of Project Delivery, they provide depth of knowledge and coverage across a wide variety of projects and technologies within the portfolio.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Working with the Senior Solution and Enterprise Architects to provide technical coverage and understanding across the wide portfolio of projects
  • Engage with technical presales activities, including the delivery of Feasibility Studies, Project Brief and Order of Magnitude Estimations (OOM)
  • Deliver Solution Architecture Documents (SADs), Total Costs Estimation (TCE), Bill of Material (BoM), messaging contracts, Technical Maintenance Plans (TMPs) associated with the assigned solution
  • Provide governance on the vendor-generated design documentation, ensuring compliance with OCMS (Operational Control and Management Systems) requirements and standards.
  • Provide timely and concise input into project documentation, including project schedules, operational requirements for project deliverables, scope statement, project impact statement artefacts
  • Participate in cybersecurity governance and assessment processes including, Security Risk Assessments (SRA), Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) assessments as required
  • Create and apply approved standards for networking, security, server infrastructure, operating systems, software components, storage infrastructure, client devices, desktop infrastructure, floor automation, database systems, monitoring systems, reporting systems and other technology as required

About You

To be successful, you will possess the following;

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
  • Five or more years of experience in Solutions Architecture in an Operational Technology (OT) / Information Technology (IT) environment
  • Five or more years of experience in a combination of at least three of the following Architecture disciplines
  • Infrastructure Architecture
  • Network Architecture
  • Security Architecture
  • Application Architecture
  • Exposure and understanding of mission-critical, real-time computing and control systems
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Quality focused with attention to detail as situation demands

We are looking for someone who loves developing architecture, assessing technology, improving data quality, system efficiency, applying security best practice, meeting business goals and reducing risk for the business. The Solution Architect role is responsible for estimating material costs, service costs and labour effort.
