The Project:

The purpose of the TasWater Capital DeliveryOffice (CDO) is to build the capability and capacity of TasWater to fulfil itscustomer promises for improved service levels by efficiently and effectivelydelivering an accelerated capital program of works.

The TasWater CDO will deliver:

  • Opportunities for people to grow and develop
  • Economic benefits and growth opportunities forlocal industry

  • Improved safety outcomes
  • Capacity and capability to transition theprogram back to TasWater post-TasWater CDO

  • The necessary framework for emergent projects

Your Opportunity:

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee,monitor and report on Capital Programs project works and personnel forcompliance with TasWater CDO plans, policies and procedures, as well aslegislative and regulatory requirements.

As the Project Manager, you will be accountablefor:

  • Representing the TasWater CDO while on site andliaising with external stakeholders to support organisational goals

  • Providing appropriate and relevant informationto Project Managers so that projects can be delivered on time, within cost andto the required level of quality

  • Managing the work performance of self anddirect reports

  • Ensuring subcontracts act safety and complywith safety requirements

  • Overseeing the application of site basedresources to confirm compliance with construction programs and otherrequirements

  • Overseeing site based personnel, includingcontractors and subcontractors, to confirm compliance with site health andsafety expectations

  • Maintain records in relevant project managementdatabases and information systems so that all required information is correctlycaptured and readily available


Our minimum requirements for this role are

  • A minimum of 5-7 years Project Management (orsimilar senior level) experience

  • A high level of business and commercial acumenbacked by a sound ability to create, read and interpret budgets, financialstatements and analyse cost variance reports

  • Formal projectmanagement accreditation equivalent to Australian Institute Project Management(AIPM), PMBOK, Diploma, PMP or equivalent

  • Appropriate technical background withexperience in multi-discipline complex infrastructure projects including engineering design, build & commissionoperating environment with scope > $10 Million

  • Experience within the water and sewerageindustry is highly regarded

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiating anddiplomacy skills
