About the roleOur Mayfield, Newcastle site currently requires a Transport Planner, reporting to the Logistics Superintendent and operating across a complex road, rail and sea environment. Day to day you'll be responsible for planning the transport of goods to customers to ensure we reach our delivery targets. You will work closely with our Operations and Sales teams and this role will provide you with ample opportunity to expand your skill set and build relationships.

You will also:

Manage the Transport planning for Newcastle Despatch Department
Control all outbound load planning in line with customer requirements
Build relationships with transport contractors to ensure success
Manage the planning of transport as per contracted agreements
Support Despatch operational team on inbound planning of export products.

Your background and experience in transport, combined with your strong organisational skills will provide the opportunity to forward plan by week and month.

You will also possess:

Proven experience in transport allocation/freight scheduling
Strong organisational skills to forward plan by week and by month inline with opertional requirements
Strong problem solving ability and keen eye for detail
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office especially excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be flexible and adapt to work demands across the Logistics operations will be critical to your success.
