Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. About the team


The Infrastructure and Place (IP) division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. Our Engineering and technical services team provide and coordinate specialised engineering and technical advice and services to enable the multi-modal delivery, operations and management of our Transport network.


The opportunity


We are currently hiring a Project Officer (Process Improvement) within our Sydney based teams. The role is responsible for performing day-to-day project operation and administrative activities to support process improvement initiatives across divisional teams. This includes implementing changes to drive best practice efficiencies around the development and delivery phases of Evolving Transport projects and objectives.


Key accountabilities:


  • Deliver and manage a range of secretariat and process improvement administrative services, including coordinating meetings and attendees, preparing agendas and reporting follow up action items.
  • Arrange meetings and workshops including liaising with presenters and coordinating event logistics to support the development of management content activities.
  • Provide technical software and systems information to develop and improve team support processes and services.
  • Implement comprehensive workflow systems to manage the delivery of evolving transport process improvement activities to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Prioritise issues when planning future support activities.
  • Check, collate and distribute regular content development reports on time.
  • Model collegiate and collaborative behaviours to achieve the greater good for the community, celebrate a diverse workforce, create an environment where people can create and thrive, or support people’s wellbeing.


About you

You will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in project administration, coordination and process improvement ideally within transport infrastructure. You will have demonstrated ability in applying office and project management procedures, as well as knowledge and experience in the application of corporate management systems and proficient computing skills, including Microsoft Office applications with an ability to present information and data in a logical and coherent manner. You will be able to work collaboratively and communicate confidently with stakeholders at various levels.


You will have strong problem solving skills, be self-directed in your approach to tasks and able to tackle a wide range of issues and challenges. You will have demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment and be able to work independently and contribute effectively in a collaborative team environment whilst maintaining a high level of work ethic.


Salary and benefits


The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 5 ($83,402 - $91,744) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
