JOB DESCRIPTION

About Us

Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate road, rail, bus and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.

About The Team

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

We have one project to deliver and that’s linemarking. Whether it’s within a reseal project or a special line mark program our processes stay the same, but best of all we have fun, work as a team unit and importantly, always stay safe.

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Linemarker to join us in our Regional Maintenance team in Tamworth. With no boundaries, there is opportunity to travel across the state to deliver all activities associated with the marking of roads with road marking machines.

You will be required to carry out all activities associated with the marking of roads using road marking machines. You will also have opportunities to learn and drive a light vehicle or rigid truck in the performance of linemarking duties.

  • Work with limited supervision, support and guide other team members when needed
  • Safely Drive/operate one of our Rural linemarking services fleet of linemarking machines
  • Assist with team set-up, pack-up and de-canting for the linemarking machine
  • Support Work Supervisor and Team Leader in the application of all quality, safety, and environmental processes to ensure TfNSW policies are met

About You

We are looking for an ambitious and team-oriented individual who has a strong drive to increase their skill set with on the job training, and external training provided. You will be willing to work outside regular working hours, attend call-outs (where needed) and be prepared to travel extensively throughout the state, including away from your home location on a regular basis.

You’ll hold:
  • Valid and current class C driver license
  • Traffic Control certificates
  • White Card
  • Ability and willingness to undertake labouring tasks, work as a team, and communicate effectively with staff, community, and external providers
Our works are undertaken in close proximity to traffic, so you will have very high regard for the safety of yourself, your team, and members of the public at all times. Ideally you will hold Traffic Control tickets (training provided).

Holding Forklift license, MR license, or Workers on Foot ticket will be highly regarded, but not essential.
