Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the team
The Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) division leads policy, strategy, standards, advice and support across safety, environment, sustainability, asset management and regulatory outcomes for customers, community and our people (including contractors). SER provides ‘centres of excellence’ with a critical mass of expertise to support line accountability, facilitate consistency and provide assuranc e across the transport. It also delivers a range of regulatory programs. 

The Asset Management centre of excellence leads and enables transport service outcomes for customers and communities through effective whole of life asset management to ensure the safe, effective and efficient movement of people and goods across our network.

The opportunity
Reporting to the relevant discipline Directors of Engineering or Principals within the Asset Management Branch, you will be utilising your technical expertise to support the development and management of engineering standards, strategic asset management frameworks across Transport, audits and reviews of Authorised Engineering Organisations and assurance reviews and audits.

What you will be involved in
You will provide technical input and provide asset management advice on the management of multi-modal technical standards (including concessions and non-conformances against compliance requirements) to enable the safe, reliable, and cost-effective management of assets. Monitorg with stakeholders and peak body industries, delivery partners to ensure at all times a best for Transport approach

About you
An engineer with demonstrated expertise in your discipline field, you will have an in-depth understanding of codes of practice, standards, regulatory legislation relating to the operations, design, and maintenance for one of the different engineering disciplines highlighted below. You will be consultative in your approach when delivering technical advice and direction to various stakeholders within Transport or to our external partners. The ability to perform advanced investigations and present findings with in-depth analysis will play a key part to deliver the best results for our customers.

Salary and Benefits
This is a Professional Engineers Grade C between $135,898 – $152,204 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
