The Company

This global business is a leading technology provider for intelligent vehicle solutions across passenger, commercial automotive and other industries including marine, rail, industrial and energy. Spare parts include transmissions, axles, clutches, shock absorbers, steering, suspensions systems, chassis and brakes. The business is experiencing strong and sustained growth across the region and the company has a major customer in Melbourne which is Asia Pacific's leading provider of vehicle parts, accessories, equipment, service and solutions.

The Role

Due to the market growth, strong forecast and strategic planning initiates, there is an immediate requirement for an experienced and well-rounded sales professional having excellent knowledge in the independent aftermarket to join the business. Reporting to the Head of Independent Aftermarket Oceania, you will be impacting the business growth and potentially double the revenues over the next two to three years. You will be providing solutions, driving sales cycle, managing key accounts, IAM channels via workshops, wholesale, retail and trades.

You will work collaboratively with a high performing team across the business and will engage proactively with the product management, technical, marketing, internal sales, customer support and back office.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Building rapport with the existing accounts whilst keeping an eye on new business development.
  • Promoting the product range and introducing solutions.
  • Developing an effective ongoing sales call cycle approach to acquire new customers.
  • Deliver short-term gain opportunities and long-terms growth initiatives to achieve/exceed pre-set sales targets and increase market share.
  • Ensure effective call planning and reporting ae in place to meet client service commitments.
  • Work collaboratively with other BDM’s to optimise call cycles and taking account of all events occurring across all territories.
  • Monitoring sales targets, financial performance of accounts and take corrective measure as required.
  • Conduct pricing analysis to optimise gross margins
  • Drive market share of products in direct and indirect key accounts and communicate all market intelligence / competitive pricing obtained
  • Ensure weekly and monthly forecasts are delivered

About You

Success in this role will come from demonstrated sales and account management experience within the automotive/commercial vehicle aftermarket sector. You will be self-motivated, and customer orientated professional with high business acumen.

What you will bring to this role:

  • At least 5-7 years of sales and account management background
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Tertiary qualification in mechanical/automotive preferred
  • MS Office Suite
  • Salesforce CRM and Navision experience is desirable
  • Experience in automotive or commercial vehicle aftermarket industry preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both verbally and in writing
