SeaLink North Queensland operates out of Townsville, and is proudly Australian-owned and operated. With 4 vessels and over 75 staff SeaLink QLD is one of the most significant transport and tour operators in the region.

As part of the Workshop and Maintenance team, you will be supporting our fleet of vessels operating to Magnetic and Palm Island. We foster a can-do culture and encourage our staff to experience and enjoy our products and services via an employee travel benefit scheme. 

About You

  • Strong work ethics and a 'Can Do' Attitude
  • Able to perform in a team environment and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, able to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and contractors
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work flexible hours

These attributes will be complimented by experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Diesel Fitter qualifications
  • Marine experience preferred
  • Experience with Caterpillar engines preferred
  • Knowledge of health & safety obligations
  • Manual drivers license

About the role

In this role, you will be based in our on-shore workshop and carry out scheduled and breakdown maintenance on vessels and other company assets when and as directed by the Maintenance Manager. You will conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on plants and machinery. Clear communication, physical fitness, and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines are paramount in this role. Random drug and alcohol tests are carried out regularly. Ordinary working days are Monday to Friday however this role may require emergency maintenance to be performed outside of ordinary working hours and the role is required to participate in a weekend duty phone roster.
