The Position

The Engineering Standards Manager will provide engineering standard strategy, policy, and direction for MTM to develop and maintain a suite of technical documents (Standards, Specification, Procedures, etc.) to support the design, construction, maintenance, operation, and renewal of the Melbourne Metropolitan Railway Network.

Collaborating with all disciplines within the Engineering Department, internal and external stakeholdres, including DOT and our project teams (and suppliers), this position will manage how the engineering standards are updated and approved and subsequelntly adopted into project baselines.

Engineering Standards set a requirements for safety and performance across the metropolitan network thus allowing MTM to operate and maintaint th Melbourne Metropolitant Railway Network moving forwad as we support the delivery of the Infrafature Big Build; this position will ensure that all internal and external stakeholders are held accountable.


You will require a Tertiary qualification in Engineering that is suitable for membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, or an appropriate technical qualification with proven industry capability. Previous experience in Project Management and exposure to the Rail Industry will be needed to understand the requirements quickly.

Efficiencies are the outright goal of the position. Knowledge of rail industry statutory obligations, regulations and Metro Trains Melbourne policies will align with engineering strategies.
