AECOM’s Energy group have an exciting pipeline of diverse and challenging greenfield and brownfield projects across Rail, Buildings, Data Centres and Power Generation sectors.

This diverse role will allow a proven Electrical Design Manager to utilise their proven technical and design understanding and lead multidisciplinary project teams. Part of the role will also include verifying designs, engaging with a variety of clients, internal stakeholders and project managing delivery.

Minimum Requirements

Your ability to demonstrate a client-centric approach, coupled with your proven background in managing multi-disciplinary design delivery across a diverse Power/Energy client base, will be key selection criteria alongside some of the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, or related Electrical/Electronic Degree;
  • Evidence of design and project management/leadership experience in Electrical Design related industry;
  • Prior and proven capability in reviewing, verifying and signing off on technical electrical engineering designs;
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of substation design, protection and control;
  • Strong stakeholder engagement ability (internal/external), with excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with and support staff;
  • An effective project leader with tenacity and drive to achieve outstanding results;
  • Successful track record in field of expertise and substantial electrical design project experience, ideally as Design Manager or Project Leader;
  • Prior involvement in delivery of detailed design, detail scope, materials for projects and detailed knowledge of design techniques;
  • Proven understanding of sub-transmission and distribution system protection and control within Australian Standards.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in successfully leading multidisciplinary project teams, highly regarded;
  • Relevant experience within a consulting environment, advantageous;
  • Proven experience in Victorian utility network, advantageous.
