In this Brisbane based role you will provide expert safety systems engineering services for railway signal engineering projects across the QR network.

About the role:
As the Signalling Systems Assurance Lead, you will provide expert systems safety engineering services to the management of Systems Assurance activities for Signalling Engineering projects.

As the lead for the signalling systems assurance function, you will help us to mature our assurance framework, develop systems engineering capability within our team and support our partners in the delivery of demonstratable safe project outcomes.

Some of the day to day duties will include:
Provide expert engineering services and advice related to safety systems engineering and safety assurance standards.
Development of assurance plans for Signal Engineering works carried on a wide range of projects from small operational changes to billion-dollar multi-discipline projects.
Undertake audits, review systems engineering management plans and safety evidence and work with Independent Safety Assessors to assure the safety and performance outcomes of railway signalling projects.
Manage communication and client acceptance of safety application conditions and hazards.

About you:
Degree Qualified (Electrical, Electronics or Computer Systems Engineering or similar)
Proven background in meeting statutory, regulatory and policy obligations
Experience in the practical application of safety systems engineering standards and processes either in the rail industry or in a similar context.
Experienced in the facilitation of hazard identification and analysis activities, systematic and functional risk management, safety-case development, and application of the SFAIRP principle.
This role may be suitable for Systems Engineers looking to change industries, background experience in railway signalling is desirable but not mandatory, we can assist in the development of domain specific knowledge for this role.
