Your new role:

The Specialist Training Manager exists to lead a team of railway specialists to plan and deliver complex project training programs to Passenger Delivery Frontline staff in support of Melbourne’s rail transformation. This position provides training expertise for assigned state projects and leads the interface into state projects and Passenger Delivery from a training perspective.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop strategic training program with forecasted training demands, readiness criteria, personnel availability and facilities requirements
• Ensure a holistic and safe integration of project training programs into wider network and business training schedules and competency management systems
• Oversee the detailed planning and delivery of large scale training events, mitigating risks to performance
• Utilise operational technical experience to influence stakeholders in support of Project and Operational Readiness objectives
• Coach, mentor, develop and engage team members

Your skills and experience:

• Extensive experience in rail operating environment, including developing competency requirements
• Proven experience in developing strategic and technical training planning in a railway environment
• Strong engaging and influencing abilities
• Certificate IV in Training & development
• Experience in using project management methodologies
• Experience leading a high performing team
• Train Driver Qualification (preferred)
• Operational planning and/or rostering experience (preferred)
