About the Team

The Safety, Environment and Regulation(SER) division upholds safety and sustainability in our transport system. We’re working to deliver globally-recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community.

The Regulatory Operations branch within SER has the Partnerships and Regulatory Assurance Team where the Audit and Investigations Unit is positioned. This unit has responsibility for leading the assurance, audit and investigations for the branch, including conducting audits of third party scheme participants.

The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Regulatory Program Auditor based in Parramatta to join our team. This is a unique role where you will be able to work autonomously while being part of a larger team, liaising with a variety of Regulatory Program participants to ensure that various business rules and other requirements are being adhered to in a range of schemes including the Authorised Inspection Station (AIS) scheme.

Please note that this role requires interaction with a variety of participants in the field, face to face eg attending motor vehicle workshops and engaging with these authorised officers motor mechanics to ensure compliance with the scheme. This role is not a financial audit and does not require an accounting qualification as it relates directly to TfNSW schemes where individuals have been authorised to act on behalf of TfNSW in a number of operational areas.

What you will be involved in :

•Supporting Regulatory program participants and monitoring their adherance to legislation and conformance to business rules

•Providing specialist advice, making sound decisions and ensuring timely and accurate management of issues in line with legislation and policy

•Provide confidential, detailed and concise reports on activiites for presentation in court.

•Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.

The role is located at Parramatta which will be the base as the role will involve field travel around all areas of Sydney on a daily basis.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic proactive, tactful person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess good computer and analytical skills with the ability to “think outside the square”.

Ideally you will have worked in a regulatory environment involved in auditing, compliance or investigations and have knowledge and/or experience relating to the AIS scheme.

You must possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and a willingness to work outside normal working hours and travel on occasion.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is USS Grade 7 ($92,928 - $98,074) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
