About the Company:
Flinders Port Holdings is South Australia’s leading port services group, and owner of Flinders Ports, Flinders Logistics and Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal - the State’s only container operator. They also provide Hydrographic survey services through HydroSurvey Australia, a division of their ports business, Flinders Ports.

They are diverse and committed to delivering the highest quality port services including pilotage, mooring, launch services, port infrastructure, stevedoring, shipping infrastructure management, land infrastructure management, survey and marine control, stevedoring and logistics operations.

About the role:
This position is an essential role for Flinders Port Holdings and is responsible for the Group’s health, safety and wellness. Ensuring the group’s compliance and with work health and safety legislation including rail safety management and chain of responsibility. You will work collaboratively with the overall business to develop WHS strategies and implementation of initiatives within the company.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide Health & Safety leadership and guidance to the WHS team.
  • Drive safety culture within the company and continuous improvement approach to health & safety.
  • Lead strategic safety initiatives from concept to implementation.
  • Provide health & Safety advise to the Group Leadership team
  • Comprehensive health and safety data reporting from leadership level to individual employee, ensuring the group safety performance is monitored and measured.
  • Work closely with Group Risk & Assurance manager to provide an audit service across the group.
  • Key point of contact for SafeWORK SA, National heavy Vehicle Regulator and National Rail Regulator
About you:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
  • Previous experience in a health & safety leadership position with a strategic focus
  • Must have significant experience leading a team of people.
  • Proven and demonstrated knowledge of Work, Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Previous experience creating and implementing culture of continuous improvement in safety in an operational high-risk environment.
  • Strong analytical reporting experience within Safety
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate on all levels.
