What will you be doing?

With an exciting portfolio of rail work won in Sydney and interstate, our Rail team needs to grow! We are searching for a Technical Director – Signalling. Your role will include:

Providing input into the sector strategy/ business plans, as required, and contributing towards it’s achievement;
Proactively managing selected projects (or components of projects), taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing subcontractors, managing the production of analysis and design (including drawings and reports), ensuring the integrity of the overall design (in collaboration with other design disciplines), quality assurance and client feedback;
Ensuring that the signalling designs produced conform to quality procedures and Australian railway operator standards;
Providing leadership, direction and technical advice to project team members;
Taking a proactive role in developing team members to their full potential, leading by example to achieve sector/divisional goals and championing a quality, innovative and entrepreneurial culture; and
Building effective relationships with clients on projects and maintaining a good understanding of the background of the client’s business and industry.

Qualifications
Who are we looking for?

First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life and want to share your technical eminence and leave a legacy. You are a highly regarded signalling professional with extensive experience in the rail industry and come to us with:

Previous experience in signaling design on complex major rail projects;
Understanding of Operational Modelling, Systems Engineering and Type Approval Process;
Demonstrated technical, commercial and delivery acumen;
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally, and the ability to manage and mentor teams;
Demonstrative experience in complex signaling design and review, supervising aspects of a project, application of standards and technical knowledge; and
RIW, AEO and ARTC competencies will all be highly regarded.
