Reporting into the GM of Network Operations you will be a focal part of a team of 5 Senior Managers who lead divisions of the Network Operations team across the Central Queensland Coal Network. You will proactively lead a team of 7 direct reports and a broader team of 70 employees, demonstrating a transformational leadership style and championing safety. The role is based in Rockhampton and the successful applicant must permanently reside in Rockhampton (no FIFO or DIDO).

About the role:

  • Undertake project management of a range of multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide effective management of Project and Planning Managers, Contract Managers and support staff in their management of individual projects.
  • Arrange and manage external and internal agencies involved in project evaluation, project management, strategic studies, asset management across diverse projects and disciplines.
  • Undertake negotiations with clients (both internal and external) and with external bodies and developers on all project matters and coordinate the management and facilitation of agreements associated with these projects.
  • Develop project plans and undertake regular reporting of progress on all projects, including regular review meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Undertake project presentations and briefings to enterprise management, stakeholders and external parties.
  • Provide advice and assistance to external and internal stakeholders for development of projects.
  • Deliver multidisciplinary work plans on a weekly basis, in conjunction with the operations planning team, to deliver asset reliability whilst maintaining operational throughput
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in the project, contract management and day of operations environment

About you:

  • Relevant degree e.g. Engineering, Business or Finance.
  • Industry recognised qualifications/certifications in Project Management.
  • 15 years+ experience in the development, planning and delivery of related projects (Preferred).
  • 5 years+ experience working in a Project Management capacity.
  • High level of project management skills in project managing large, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • High level of operational management skills, especially in leading and managing a professional team with emphasis on operating in a commercial environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and structure.
  • High level of skill in the development of common goals and strong working relationships between senior managers, key internal and external stakeholders and operational staff.
  • High level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and influencing skills that build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships.
  • High level of skill in analysis, interpretation and problem solving relevant to a high stress, ambiguous and fast changing environment.
