About the Role

Based in Kilburn, the Technical Trainer will be responsible for providing accredited and non-accredited training and assessment services in support of the competency development and maintenance of infrastructure teams, other employees, and contractors required to conduct infrastructure maintenance tasks in accordance with organisational and Industry standards.

  • Deliver technical and non-technical training and assessment services to all One Rail Australia employees as required.
  • Conduct on-going recertification assessments of infrastructure team members as required.
  • Provide support in the in-field instruction and coaching of infrastructure trainees.
  • Abide by all departmental document control and index referencing requirements.
  • Assist in the design, development, evaluation, and review of accredited and non-accredited competency-based training programs.
  • Utilise the organisation’s training resources provided to enhance learning and skill development.
  • Support innovation and change in the design and development of new programs and delivery methods and modes.
  • Enter assessment results data and maintain training and assessment records using the organisational training records database if and as required.
  • Attend internal and external assessment validation and moderation activities as required.
  • Assist with incident investigations by providing guidance as appropriate to level of competence and experience as required.
  • Report to the Training Coordinator any compliance or quality concerns unearthed during the course of the execution of duties and assist in rectifying as required.
  • Provide support in the development of Job Competency Profile (JCP) content for job roles applicable to area of expertise.
  • Contribute to own professional development and industry release for the maintenance of competency in all areas required of job role.
  • Contribute to State/Territory and Federal rail industry training Initiatives as directed by the Operations Training Manager.

About You

In addition to having extensive experience in a similar role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated commitment to One Rail Australia’s Core Values.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Australian rail industry in the capacity of a qualified Rail Infrastructure Track Maintainer.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to develop internal and external relationships quickly.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent or working towards attainment.
  • Certificate II and III in Rail Infrastructure.

Desirable

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a qualified workplace trainer and assessor.
  • Current qualifications in the Code of practice for the Defined Interstate Rail Network (Including the ARTC and One Rail Australia Addendum).
  • Operate a Road Rail Vehicle.
