We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to support the successful delivery of what will be one of the most iconic projects in Melbourne, the highly anticipated Melbourne Airport Rail (MAR) Project.

The role:

In this role you will support the Package Director by leading activities and deliverables relating to Melbourne Airport Rail Project, and any other additional agreed works in support of Victoria’s ‘Big Build’ Infrastructure Program.

This is a full-time permanent role, primarily based in Melbourne’s CBD.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Achieve objectives set for the Alliance/Program to support Metro strategies, business plans and customer expectations.
• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the project and package scope, providing briefings, presentations and information as required to team members and internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrate the skills to break down complex information and communicate it in a way that is accessible to all team members regardless of background and discipline.
• Build strong working relationships with team members and stakeholders across Metro, our client and partner organisations; demonstrating the ability to utilise these relationships to identify and solve problems, innovate and enhance collaboration.
• Shape team culture through demonstrating Metro’s values, making time for your own (and others’) learning, development and self-reflection and holding others to account.
• Support the Package Director in the strategic support of Tier 1 Contractors and Consultancy partners across the program and key Government Agencies.
• Assist the Package Director and Senior Project Engineer in the preparation and presentation of project reports, papers and briefing notes.

About You

• You will have at least 10 years’ experience working on complex rail and /or airport projects across all facets of the project life cycle, e.g. design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering or equivalent
• Commercial exposure, demonstrated experience developing and interpreting plans and schedules.
• Knowledge and experience of using project tools, systems and techniques such as reporting systems, document management systems, contract administration platforms
• Experience briefing and presenting to senior leadership and reporting in different project environments to technical and non-technical audiences.
