The opportunity

Right now, Transport for NSW is looking for a Manager Fleet Innovation and Technology Projects to join the Network and Assets branch. The Fleet Innovation and Technology Manager is responsible for the identification, concept development, detailed design, and delivery of fleet and/or mechanical technology projects.

The position will work closely with customers, end users and stakeholders to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose, safe and sustainable. This position will also lead the promotion of innovative technologies and solutions to ensure that Transport is a step ahead of the industry.

As the Manager Fleet Innovation & Technology, you’ll be responsible for driving integrated innovation & planning in mechanical and strategic use project funds. You will also be the leader in nurturing innovation and leading business planning and continuous process improvement across the State. About you

To be successful in this role, you must hold a four-year Mechanical engineering degree from an Australian University or project management with relevant post trade experience.

We are looking for a talented development and project management professional who is customer focused, and demonstrates drive and commitment, with experience in understanding the complexities of heavy vehicles, plant and trucks design requirements. Your ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, workshop manuals and hydraulic system diagrams will be imperative for this position.

You will have demonstrated experience in the development and introduction of new technologies, leading and implementing change programs to achieve continuous safety and cost improvements.

You will have demonstrated experience and knowledge in project and contract management, effective communication, negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate and influence multiple stakeholders.

You must have a valid a current Class MR motor vehicle driver’s licence and be able to travel frequently sometimes at short notice. Advanced excel will be advantageous

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is USS11 ($142,300 - $151,837) - per annum plus superannuation
