JOB DESCRIPTION

Queensland Rail’s Strategic Projects Team has an exciting 2 Year Fixed term opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join them, assisting in the delivery of externally delivered projects. This team is responsible for interfacing with External Agencies in the delivery of large rail infrastructure projects such as the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Project, Inland Rail, Kuraby to Beenleigh Rail Upgrade and many more. This role, along with the team, will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of these significant rail projects.

This position will be responsible for providing project management and associated services on large rail Infrastructure Projects for the Strategic Projects Group in Queensland Rail and clients external to Queensland Rail.

To be considered for this role you will need to have:

  • 10+ years demonstrated experience in delivering multi-disciplinary rail projects as a senior or lead project manager .
  • Demonstrated experience in managing diverse internal and external stakeholders with competing priorities to achieve a common outcome.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate at the right level with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships, obtain co-operation , and develop collaborative working relationships
  • High level of oral and written communication skills and ability to negotiate complex technical matters through to resolution.
  • Capable of managing design specifications and development of management plans.
  • Highly developed analytical and planning/ prioritisation skills.
  • A continual improvement mindset and willingness to take part in actively developing frameworks, processes and procedures to support project delivery.
  • A heavy focus on safety and risk based decision making.
  • Highly developed report writing skill set.
  • Ability to interrupt and apply contract terms and legislation provisions.
  • Ability to obtain Rail Infrastructure Worker (RIW) competency accreditation
