Senior Safety Advisor - Project

Our client, a major construction company is looking to hire a Senior Safety Advisor to join their team in Melbourne. The company is looking to add to its high calibre workforce to safely and efficiently deliver the best quality projects.

 You will be required to

• Monitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace, provide operational support to the project management team and evaluate the project safety programs for value and effectiveness,
• Assist with the development of safety policies specific to the project, conducting incident and accident investigations that may require litigation, routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas,
• Lead the supporting safety team through direct management and regular meetings, also administer safety programs for project employees,
• Establish working relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of safety risks including maintaining professional relationships with regulatory bodies and clients,
• Assist the development of communications tools and records for all project safety meetings, also prepare reports and documentation concerning the aspects of project safety programs,
• Maintain knowledge of applicable legislative requirements including government regulations, standards and policies.
• Evaluate, investigate and gather information that will address inadequacies concerning safety matters,
• Review specific high risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the method of work.

The successful candidate will have

• Qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Environmental, Project Management and Safety Lead Auditor,
• Minimum 5 years construction safety management, preferably in Civil or Rail, also general safety practitioner,
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls,
• Experience monitoring, reviewing and reporting on performance, compliance and defects, also conducting and interpreting audit reviews,
• Skills in safety management techniques and tools,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
