About us


Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate road, rail, bus and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.


About the Team:


Our Freight Branch, part of the Customer Strategy and Technology Division, lead and coordinate the safe, productive and sustainable movement of goods in and through NSW.


The Policy and Regulatory Reform team are TfNSW domain experts and lead freight policy and regulatory reform.


The Opportunity:


We are currently recruiting for a Policy Manager to join the Policy and Regulatory team within Freight.


Leading small agile teams of Policy Officers, the Policy Managers will be responsible for the development of policy responses and solutions to facilitate economic development outcomes through leveraging transport assets, infrastructure and programs.


About You:


We are looking for individuals who have the ability to lead and work collaboratively across the team, have exceptional written communication skills and an ability to influence across various internal and external stakeholder groups.


Significant experience in a Policy role within government is essential. Relevant tertiary qualifications, experience within Freight and experience in leading or mentoring teams would be desirable.

Salary and Benefits:


The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($135,898 - $152,204) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
