WE ARE ON THE HUNT!

We require Production Supervisors to oversee production activities at the Karara Operations on an 8/6 roster from Perth.

The Karara Open Pit Mine is located about 350kms north of Perth and 200kms east of Geraldton Western Australia and is the Mid West's largest new mining project. The operation is a conventional open pit with a 30Mtpa mining rate to produce 8Mtpa of magnetite concentrate. The Karara pit feeds the processing plant, which is run by the client, Karara Mining Ltd. The magnetite concentrate is transported by rail to Geraldton for shipment.

The camp has a 24-metre lap pool, putting green, gym, tennis, and cricket courts, and a 5-kilometre walking track and we offer permanent rooms.

This role will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to Leading Hands and production personnel, ensuring project safety and production targets are met and employee and plant productivity is optimised in line with mine plans.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Actively participate in mine planning meetings
  • Assist Leading Hands to review and understand the mine plan and schedules
  • Monitor and promote continuous improvement in processes and procedures that will improve efficiency and productivity
  • Work with Production Superintendents to analyse shift performance
  • Track and discuss team performance and ensure daily issues are effectively dealt with
  • Work collaboratively with the Client Representative through the Production Superintendent to optimise productivity and compliance with work schedules and required quality
  • Assist Superintendents in the development of training matrices for employees detailing
  • Work with Leading Hands to ensure plant and equipment use is optimised in line with operational standards, OEM specifications and the mine plan
  • Track and discuss team performance, deal with daily issues through coaching, training, or other development actions
To be successful in this role you will have;
  • Extensive experience supervising mining operational crews
  • Sound knowledge or mining equipment best practice and operational performance to meet production targets in a safe and efficient manner
  • Contractor mining experience highly regarded with demonstrated experience in exceeding performance based mining KPI's
  • Ability to understand and effectively implement the mine plan
  • Proficient in the use/application of MACA systems
  • Demonstrated focus on workforce productivity
  • Proven leadership skills
