We are looking for an Officer Approvals Request to support the Iron Ore business to meet legislative compliance and our social licence to operate through the management of approval permits to undertake works. This is a great opportunity for someone with mining operational knowledge or graduate experience within the resources sector to take the first step into building a career within the approvals team.

Reporting to the Supervisor Approvals Request this role is a great opportunity for a process driven, detail orientated coordinator who is able to manage multiple stakeholders. To be successful in this role you will
- Provide support to clients throughout Rio Tinto Iron Ore (WA) who utilise the online Approvals Request process.
- Administer and manage the Approvals Request process for assigned suite of projects/sites.
- Managing multiple stakeholders and facilitating resolution of issues to enable authorisation of Approvals Requests.
- Issuing Approvals Requests through the dedicated Approvals Requests Coordination System.
- Participating in Approvals Requests co-ordination meetings for assigned suite of projects/sites.
- Providing advice and supporting clients with the Approvals Request process.
- High attention to detail and capable of undertaking quality assurance of the Approvals Request process.
- Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, enabling positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong coordination and administrative capability with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Working knowledge in a GIS database such as MapInfo or ArcGIS with a general understanding of the Approvals Request process would be highly desirable
- Knowledge of environmental and heritage approvals/management is also highly regarded
- An ability to work collaboratively and engage with a variety of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
