POSITION SUMMARY
NEWest Alliance is a multidisciplinary collaboration between CPB Contractors and Downer, working with the Public Transport Authority to deliver over $1.2 billion of works as part of METRONET.
Across two projects (Yanchep Rail Extension and Thornlie-Cockburn Link), the Alliance will add 32 kilometres of track to Perth's rail network, 5 new stations and 3 station modifications as well as 14 kilometres of principal shared path.
Together the projects are set to create 3000 jobs and once operational will give residents of the northern and southern suburbs greater access to employment and training, entertainment and recreation hubs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We have opportunities for an experienced Digital Engineer and a Junior Digital Engineer to join our NEWest Alliance team and responsibilities will include:
- Effectively manage the design stage of works by:
- Ensuring the Digital Deliverables fully comply with the project contract documents;
- Enabling Value Engineering reviews of consultant designs via the use of Digital tools and workflows
- Providing assistance in identifying opportunities to improve the design
- Helping to ensure safety and constructability is built into the design by using Software functionality to interrogate the Digital Models and designs
- Develop and deliver against project goals and objectives including:
- Assisting with the preparation of accurate monthly reports
- Reporting major design changes to your Manager
- Helping to Assess Design Change requests (DCR's)
- Responding to RFI's
- Liaising effectively with external and internal stakeholders
- Work closely with the respective design and engineering managers to ensure that Digital Engineering requirements are incorporated into the procurement of supply chain services.
- Facilitate site wide model federation activities including hosted and linked information.
- Conduct Digital Engineering competency assessments of project stakeholders.
- Interrogate design information being developed to ensure that it is robust, in the appropriate format and of sufficient quality for acceptance.
- Ensure stakeholders comply with the Project BIM and SIM Plan.
- Support the WH&S effort through the model functionality to support safety initiatives on the project.
- Connect Digital Engineering to the on-site activities through the site management team.
- Support the use of Digital Engineering for site logistics and planning.
- Extract data from the models to contribute and support monthly project reporting.
- Ensure responsibilities and outputs are clearly communicated across the projects stakeholders.
- Provide support to Design and Engineering Management Team throughout the alliance.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Experience in BIM/Digital Engineering project delivery
- Experience in the consulting and construction industry with significant exposure to design, costing, estimating, planning and project management
- Demonstrated capability in the development of innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
