As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works. The experience gained in this exciting, multi-disciplinary environment will be valuable to building your career in rail construction.


Metro Trains, alliance partner of the North West Program Alliance is currently seeking a experienced Contracts Administrator to support current & future construction projects as part of the Level Crossing Removal Program (LXRP).

This opportunity is currently offered on a 12 month full time contract with a view to permanency for the right candidate, primarily located at our new alliance offices in Lonsdale St CBD. Our commercial team offer flexible working arrangments which include a mixture of office based, working from home and site visits as and when required.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Operate commercial and contract systems including, providing information for cost reporting and maintaining variation and EOT claim registers
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance to subcontract (eg: security, insurances)
  • Minimise all subcontractor variation claims and elimination of claims where possible
  • Assist with the identification of potential commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of projects, and identify and implement controls
  • Process and recommend progress claims for work completed, and refer disputed claims to relevant managers
  • Finalise and close out subcontracts, including subcontractor final statements and releases
  • Prepare reports on commercial performance of subcontracts

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management , Projects or equivalent discipline desirable
  • Experience in contract management essential
  • High level experience in administration techniques, data collection, analysis and purchasing functions
  • Knowledge of data reporting and management information systems
  • Strong attention to detail, consistency and thoroughness
  • Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to
