MTIA is established as an Administrative Office under the Public Administration Act 2004 as a specialist organisation, comprising skilled and experienced staff across the various professional disciplines involved in transport infrastructure project delivery. Led by the Director-General, it has five key groups: Level Crossing Removal Project, Major Road Projects Victoria, the North East Link Project, Rail Projects Victoria and the West Gate Tunnel Project. The Minister for Transport Infrastructure is the responsible Minister for the projects which are developed and delivered by MTIA.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Website Manager, the Digital Communications Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Office of the Director-General's web presence, related to the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA). The position will primarily maintain Victoria's Big Build website and associated online channels, including working with project teams to publish content, designing improvements to the website, and undertaking minor development tasks. The role works closely with other members of the communications team as well as other project teams across government. This role is employed by Rail Projects Victoria, working in the Office of the Director-General.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a strong understanding of current digital trends, web writing, search engine optimisation, content marketing and social media
  • Need experience in a range of tools and programs to manage and produce content, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud and EDM applications such as Campaign Monitor or Mail Chimp
  • Tertiary (Bachelor or higher) qualification in Communications or a related field is mandatory.
