Contracts Administrator - 2 Positions Available

Our client, a major construction company is looking to hire a Contracts Administrator to join their team in Perth. The company is looking to add to its high calibre workforce to safely and efficiently deliver rail systems.

Position 1

Supporting one of our major rail projects in Western Australia, this FIFO position operates on a 3/1 or 2/1 roster with the point of hire in Perth. 

 Position 2

Supporting multiple rail projects, based in the Perth office and travel out to sites when required.

 You will be required

  • To draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany quotations issued to subcontractors for projects,
  • Conduct investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisation’s conditions relating to contracts for prospective projects,
  • Manage the review process to ensure the award of subcontractors within required time frame and budget,
  • Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including project costs reporting, asset registers, commercial pack database and contract sum, also maintain a register of subcontractors,
  • Cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are maintained and notify project management teams of any cost issues immediately,
  • Interpret specifications and drawings of works for the project at head contract and subcontract scope level and participate in identification and quantification of head contracts,
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure that code compliance is maintained and minimise subcontractor variation claims and elimination of claims,
  • Assess commercial and contractual risks in delivery and implementation of projects and implement controls, also check compliance and prepare reporting on commercial performance,
  • Process and recommend progress claims and refer disputed claims to the relevant manager,
  • Perform all duties in accordance to company, processes, systems and procedures and general business administration.

The successful candidate will have

  • Qualifications Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law and Commerce,
  • Commercial administration experience in Accounting, Finance and Engineering,
  • Advanced proficiency in software packages such as Microsoft Suite, Excel and to a contract management system,
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry,
  • Experience with a variety of project values, complexity and negotiating with sub-contractors,
  • Document control experience with records management procedures, also apply relevant legislation on the project to prevent business exposure.
