Train Crewing

Train Crewing is the custodian for the customers’ on-board journey experience and play a key role in providing safe and reliable train services. We are also responsible for ensuring we have professional and qualified Train Drivers and Train Guards who deliver effective, diligent and continuously improving service.

The primary purpose of the Crew Enablement function is to support and enable the Branch to improve, comply with requirements and drive positive service delivery and support.

Please note this is a 12 month, temporary full-time position.

The opportunity

The Program Manager, Transformation is responsible for developing and implementing transformation activities within the business to ensure maximum value from business efficiency solutions are delivered.

In this role you’ll prepare the Train Crewing business for the changes associated with the implementation of Strategy and Future programs including impact and capability assessments, process, cultural and organisational requirements. The role is accountable for assuring transformation is delivered within a structured approach and methodology in order to deliver and realize transformation outcomes. Key accountabilities include:

  • Developing and implementing transformation plans that support improvement initiatives and focuses on effectively managing the people related impacts of the project and individual stakeholder groups
  • Leading internal workshops, staff engagement activities and value stream mapping sessions to support implementation of the Train Crewing program initiatives within the Branch
  • Developing change management scope and plans (including communications, coaching and training plans) required for the business transformation in line with the organisational project and change frameworks.

About you

As a seasoned change or program management professional, you have extensive experience working on transformation projects or programs in an operational and highly unionised environment, ideally within the transportation or government sector.

You’re a strong communicator and change champion with significant demonstrated experience of working on an array of large change / transformation projects (such as technology, systems or processes).

You will have highly advanced stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills with proven success in brokering effective, productive relationships across a large and diverse workforce. Additionally you’ll require an L&D background or strong competency in faciliating workshops and training sessions, with the ability to engage people and bring them on the journey.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally be tertiary qualified in Change Management or a related field, alternatively you’ll have comensurate demonstrated relevant experience.
