Efficient public transport is vital for the continued growth of the Western Australian economy and with investment in expansion of the urban rail network continuing via programs such as METRONET, the PTA needs the skill and commitment of a talented workforce.

Based in Claisebrook this position ensures the operational performance of all Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) is safe, reliable and cost effective and that all maintenance, repairs and associated works are completed to the PTA’s relevant standards and customer requirements. You will prepare technical reports on maintenance and repair activities and be involved in investigations and reporting of all OLE incidents. Supervising staff and driving team performance through the assessment of competence and identification of competence are critical deliverables of this role.

To be successful in this position you will need to possess:

  • Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems – Rail Traction
  • Demonstrated knowledge in maintenance and construction of OLE for 25 kV AC Electrified railway, including restoration of de-wirement in 25kV AC urban electrified railway
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in supervising and developing teams and individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to take control and resolve issues in emergency situations

This is an operational position that requires the successful applicant to work shift work and weekend work as required, to a 24 hour 7 day-week roster including call outs.
