Downer is the leading provider of integrated services in Australia and New Zealand. Through trusted relationships and world leading insight we work closely with our customers to design, build and sustain assets, infrastructure and facilities.

NEWest Alliance is a multidisciplinary collaboration between CPB Contractors and Downer, working with the Public Transport Authority to deliver two projects (Yanchep Rail Extension and Thornlie-Cockburn Link) as part of METRONET.

Some Of Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

As a Communications and Stakeholder Relations Coordinator for Downer, you will be assigned a number of key responsibilities to manage within our company which will have direct impact on our business. We need people who are talented, motivated and disciplined, and who have a strong work ethic that drives them to succeed.

  • Support communications activities including drafting works notifications, Facebook and web updates, construction updates and other materials as required,
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities including events planning and management, doorknocking, and community meetings,
  • Maintain and update CSE records including photo, media and video libraries and engagement databases,
  • Respond to enquiries to the community information line, gather information and draft responses,
  • Support internal communications activities including preparation of presentations, information updates, and on-line staff meetings.


About You


  • A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, media or similar
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of Communications experience and/or Stakeholder and Community Relations experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including a focus on detail and proof-reading ability
  • Experience in Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint


Preferred But Not Essential-
  • Construction industry or related experience
  • Photography experience and Photoshop skills
  • Graphic design and InDesign skills
  • Experience preparing media statements
  • Videography skills and experience with video editing software
