Our Asset Services Team currently has an exciting opportunity for a District Planning Coordinator (Non Coal) to join their team based in Toowoomba on a permanent full-time basis. In this role you will be responsible for effectively coordinating the integrated planning of asset management activities by ensuring comprehensive operational schedules and detailed project plans are developed, implemented, and provide strategic direction. You will also be responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of long term asset, corridor operational and capital plans. 

You will be responsible for directly leading a team of approximately 9 team members and whilst this role is predominately office based you will be required to work in the field and travel throughout the district. Your ability to lead a team combined with outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and your ability to prioritise your workload will be paramount to your success in this role. 

About the role:

• Develop and maintain systems and processes required to control and support effective and efficient whole of business infrastructure planning and reporting
• Develop and maintain strategic 10 year asset management plans, annual maintenance plans, 28 operational schedules, project plans and schedules to achieve business needs
• Provide integration of infrastructure and network operational planning processes to develop the Operational Daily Train Plan for the relevant area
• Develop asset replacement plans to ensure asset condition is managed to the appropriate standard
• Monitor the performance of the operational and capital plans including financial budgeting, asset condition, inventory and procurement management with a view to optimising planning processes and assumptions
• Investigate opportunities to achieve business improvements through effective asset management and implementation of new technologies with a view to reducing costs, improve asset utilisation, lifespan and optimisation of service delivery
• Ensure seamless business continuity for planning between network, operational and supply chain customers is achieved 
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders

About you:

• High level of skill in the development of asset management strategies, planning methodology and operational plans as they relate to an operating railway
• High level of conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills including interpretation of large data sets
• High level of interpersonal, consultation, negotiation and relationship building skills that build and sustain productive internal and external relationships and partnerships 
• High level of skill in asset / resource capability and utilisation planning to achieve best for business planning outcomes 
• Substantial skill in producing prioritised and costed assets plans to enable achievement of the financial performance of the area while remaining customer focused and driven to improve business results
• Substantial level of skill in the use of current information systems 
• ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
• Civil Engineering qualification – highly desirable 
• Previous experience using Microsoft Office suite primarily Word and Excel (pivot tables and macros) and SAP / Asset Management System – highly desirable 

This opportunity is permanent full-time with an annual salary of $123,515 + super. You will need to have the to work and travel across the district and work weekends when required.
