JOB DESCRIPTION

Aurizon is currently seeking applications from Qualified Locomotive Drivers to be based out of the Acacia Ridge depot.

About the role:

We are currently seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers who will be based at our Acacia Ridge depot. This role will be suited to an individual who is able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and customer service. 

  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
  • Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and marshalling.
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of on-time running.
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
  • Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives. 

About you: 

  • Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster.
  • Willing and able to work book-offs with regular overnight stays in Maryborough.
  • Route quals from Acacia Ridge to Maryborough (preferred)
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
  • A Certificate IV in Rail Operations (desirable)
  • Current unrestricted Class C drivers licence.
