Do you have a keen interest to learn about project management in the unique rail and rolling stock industry? Are you a driven Project Manager who enjoys having a diverse workload of end-to-end projects? Aurizon is offering an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Project Manager to manage a growing portfolio of projects in Perth to support the growth of our Bulk business!

As the Infrastructure Project Manager you will gain exposure to the full project lifestyle from concept development through to construction delivery and handover, reporting into the Facilities Program Manager. You will work across a diverse project pipeline of sub $5mil works consisting of civil, commercial, warehouse, and rail logistics facilities. This role will focus on feasibility, design management, liaising with authorities, procurement, and managing builders during construction.

This is a 12-month fulltime opportunity.

About the role:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Project Management plans
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work, specifications, tenders, and contract documentation
  • Supervise contractors and consultants including contract and specification development and administration
  • Effectively manage projects to ensure time, cost, and quality KPIs are met
  • Communicate effectively to multiple internal and external stakeholders to build relationships, communicate objectives and requirements, and resolve conflict

About you: 

  • Experience in delivering infrastructure projects is mandatory
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management is mandatory
  • In depth understanding of project management methodologies, PMBOK is preferred
  • Experience using Primavera P6 and SAP are preferred
  • In-depth understanding of how operations run in order to provide feasible solutions for business improvements
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Effective time management skills
  • Motivated by detail orientated and analytical work
  • Highly adaptable and composed under pressure
