About the role

Reporting to the Head of Government Relations and External Affairs the Corporate Affairs and Communications Specialist will support the team with all aspects of internal and external communications. This is a fast-paced role coordinating a number of competing priorities, working closely with the team to create compelling company-wide communication such as the company intranet, social media channels, digital, newsletters and leadership communications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of Pacific National’s (PN) external and internal communication strategies and campaigns
  • Preparing content and communication materials to assist the team build the company’s profile among stakeholders or in the media including key industry publications, regional press and online trade publications
  • Ensuring key stakeholder involvement in the development of the communications plan and actions, engaging business and frontline leaders.
  • Providing day-to-day advice, support, preparing briefs, and collateral for key internal stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Supporting business teams to develop campaigns linked to projects or programs of work

About you

You will possess strong writing and communication skills and have a sound understanding of all aspects of communications including, internal communications, media relations, stakeholder relations, social media, and digital communications. You will enjoy collaborating with a small dynamic team, building strong stakeholder relationships, and providing advice and communication support across the business. It is essential you are able to manage competing demands in a frequently changing environment.

In addition you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, or professional track record of at least 3-5 years’ workplace-based experience in a media, corporate affairs or a communication role
  • Experience drafting and developing communications content targeting relevant audiences and distilling key messaging across a diverse range of channels.
  • Experience in developing communication strategies for complex, multi-stakeholder companies, and the ability to project manage, execute and deliver to deadlines 
  • Experience drafting material suitable for the media both proactive and reactive
  • Experience co-ordinating and organising photo shoots across multiple locations
  • Strong IT skills across Microsoft Office, SharePoint, WordPress, MailChimp and social networking platforms. InDesign experience a plus.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
