We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our People Team on the Metro Level Crossing Removal Team (MLXRT)!

About the project:
The Level Crossing Removal Project will leave a legacy to Melbourne’s rail infrastructure by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services with the elimination of 75 level crossings across metropolitan Melbourne, in addition to upgrading or constructing more than 27 train stations, laying many kilometres of new track and making associated rail improvements.

About the role:
This fast paced project requires a dynamic Project Coordinator to support our People Team with a wide array of People Function and general Project administration, playing a pivotal role in coordinating various sources of information for reporting purposes across the portfolio, organising meetings, proposing improvement opportunities to current ways of doing things and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

This is a full-time, maximum-term role (to the end of Feb. 2022), based in the Melbourne CBD, as a Metro employee you will receive free-public transport travel across the network.

Accountabilities:
  • Be the point of contact for coordinating specific People function activities across the portfolio under the People Partner guidance.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely gathering of people data feeding into internal dashboards and external reporting.
  • Support alliance based people team with socially responsible employment reporting and data quality improvement.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and administrative support in the preparation of reports and resource planning forums.
  • Administration of resource planning process, including liaising with multiple stakeholders to collate all information & data ahead of resource planning meetings, communicating actions and coordinating follow ups with all relevant parties.
  • Assist People Partner and alliance People team with coordinating delivery of tasks, and provide key input into continued improvement to ways of working.
About you:
  • Previous experience working in a dynamic and fast paced Projects environment.
  • Experience in the application of the Microsoft suite with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience in coordinating across different levels in a complex organisation.
  • Ability to communicate to staff at all levels (verbal and written), and to negotiate preferred outcomes, proactively follow up actions and tasks.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanour, enjoys working with others and has a One Team approach
  • Communicates and engages effectively with internal and external stakeholders to develop trust and strong relationships.
  • Demonstrates a positive and proactive attitude towards change, supporting the implementation of new initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism working with sensitive information.
