JOB DESCRIPTION

The role:

The Resource Planner is accountable for reviewing Alliance and Project Portfolio resource forecasts and planning rosters to effectively meet resource demands for the required resource.

Main duties:
  • Review and analyse Projects resource forecasts to validate accuracy and ensure resources can be rostered to achieve maximum productivity and deliver Project works safely and efficiently.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support Alliances with accurate forecasting.
  • Liaise with Alliances and Project Portfolios to resolve supply and demand issues with submitted forecasts.
  • Complete resource rostering and communicated outcomes to Alliances in a timely manner.
  • Action regular resource reporting as required by the Resource Planning Manager
  • Any other duties as specified by manager

Education, skills and experience:
  • Knowledge of discipline requirements to complete Project works.
  • Signalling/Electrical Networks knowledge would be highly regarded.
  • Relevant qualifications in workforce analytics, business metrics or logistics planning to degree level or as otherwise acceptable to MTM
  • Experience in collecting and analysing large volumes of data and being able to present results of such analysis in a concise and insightful manner
  • Experience within the rail industry would be viewed favourably
  • Ability to collect, analyse and present workplace data and information
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written)
  • Ability to follow occupational health, safety and environmental procedures in the rail industry
  • Ability to identify and analyse risks, and make corrective actions
  • Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are adhered to
