We are currently seeking a Rail Safety Coordinator for work on our Level Crossing Removal Project, on the South Eastern Program Alliance!

Set a benchmark for high quality Safeworking personnel on major projects and support rail safety practices, systems and procedures on the Level Crossing Removal Project, delivering a safer and more efficient train network for Melbourne.

This is a full-time permanent role, primarily based at our site office in Mont Albert, with some travel to our other site locations in the South-East where required.

As an MTM employee you will have access to a pooled vehicle, as well as free-travel along the network.

This role will require you to be available for rail Occupations (shutting the rail network down for construction activities to safely take place), which can take place at night, weekends or, public holidays.

The Role:

As a Rail Safety Coordinator within the project delivery team, you will:

* To provide support to the Rail Safety Manager in managing aspects on the implementation of Rail Safety Plans, Business Plans and Alliance policies and procedures.
* Provide governance, oversight and facilitate continuous improvement in rail safety management and investigation practices.
* Through conduct of onsite activities and targeted reporting, provide assurance that rail safety risks associated with Project Works are managed.
* Provision of advice on all matters relating to rail safety management & investigating project incidents.
* Investigate Level 1/2 project incidents with written reports to be developed to a standard acceptable for court evidence.
* Review and endorse project safeworking arrangements as part of the Works / Occupation Readiness process.
* Assist with the identification of commissioning requirements and develop methodology to comply and review and complete rail safety input to operations and maintenance documentation and legal compliance requirements.

Desired Skills & Experience:

* Qualified as a Level 3.3 Track Force Protection Co-ordinator and/or, the Automatic Block Signalling System of Safeworking.
* Permit to Work Near Recipient.
* Lead auditor experience.
* ICAM Lead Investigator qualified.
* Experience in the implementation of rail safety management system within the rail construction environment.
* Knowledge of the PTC 1994 Book of Rules and Operating Procedures, as it applies to the MTM Network.
* Ability to collect, analyse and present workplace data and information.
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written).
* Ability to identify and analyse risks, and make corrective actions.
