Our Transport group employs more than 8,000 professionals who support clients with innovative solutions to efficiently move people and goods across the globe. We focus our efforts in Aviation, Bridge, Highway, Ports & Maritime, Planning Services, Transit & Rail and Tunnels.

We now have a new opportunity for a Rolling Stock Systems Engineer to be based in our Melbourne office. This role will have responsibility for leading the technical input and direction in the desing, quality and management for Rolling Stock projects for light rail, heavy rail and freight. The primary focus will be on passenger heavy rail and technical advisory.

About You

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor level degree
  • Chartered Professional Engineer
  • Significant experience in Project Management tools
  • Extensive knowledge of Rolling Stock types including light rail, heavy rail (EMUs and DMUs), locomotives and freight wagons
  • Extensive understanding of design principles and methods of Rolling Stock design and technical investigations including discrete tasks for fleet engineering, fault finding and root cause failure investigations
  • Extensive understanding of the multi-disciplinary interfaces with Rolling Stock systems including structural, bogie, HVAC, doors, brakes, traction, PA/PIS, pantograph, auxiliary power and train management system
  • Extensive understanding of technical standards for Rolling Stock design, manufacture and maintenance.
  • Significant experience on large Rolling Stock procurement projects and project management roles
  • Extensive knowledge of the local environment, relevant industry, particularly working within the Victorian Rail Industry, operators, maintainers and local manufacturers
  • Any knowledge of Rail infrastructure disciplines including Overheads, Track, Structures, Signaling is not essential but preferable.
  • Excellent communications skills
